Overview

Background: The MVP of our rewards app had a successful closed test, it was decided to move on to the next iteration. The next iteration would see new features, a full login flow, and a rebranding to have the product stand on it's own.

Challenge:

  1. Add in new features and new design patterns that would attract new organic users and set up the app for easy expansion moving forward.

  2. Add in new branding elements to make the app stand out as a unique product but not so far removed that it feels completely foreign from our currently available Respondent experience.

  3. An easy to use account creation and login flow that will allow the closed beta testers and new users to have the same kinds of accounts with t he same kinds of information provided.

Solution:

  1. New & updated design patterns: I designed new patterns that took better advantage of the mobile space and used familiar patterns from our Respondent experience where it made sense.

  2. New branding & assets: I updated the apps color palette, created new marketing materials & design assets to give the experience it's own presence.

  3. Login flow: I worked with our CTO & Product Lead to align our login/signup flow with our backend tech stack currently being used. We worked out the easiest path we could to allow for a quick and easy login experience for new and returning user's.

Outcome:

The second iteration went out and we continued to see steady usage. Signup was now open to the general public allowing people to come off the waitlist and opening up our ability to look at organic signup numbers.
