Manage app tiles and review data
Overview
Background: Platform our Publisher's would use to engage with the various tools we provided for them. These tools included a Market Insights survey creator, Monetization content creator, and our Quick Questions generator. Our goal was to flatten the experience, making it easier to use so we could more easily add in new features and get our customer's using the platform more themselves.
Challenge:
Make the platform easier and more appealing to use by our customers.
Revamp platform navigation to make it easier to navigate.
Take a complex product and boil it down into smaller, bite-sized experience flows while making it all visually appealing & digestible.
Solution:
Update design patterns and navigation: We added a side bar for navigation so user's could see their options more easily and at all times. We also updated our design patterns to use tiles and templates.
Rework navigation from the ground up: On top of adding a new navigation scheme, we also looked at all the navigation options and reduced them. We combined more options together and created a secondary navigation scheme.
Reworked the platform for the user: We reworked how the information was laid out and the flow of experiences based on what would make the most sense for the users. Since our internal team was previously the ones using the platform the most it had begun to be built out based on internal working knowledge of our product, not how it might make sense or should appear to a handful of users coming onto platform with different roles or knowledge bases.
Outcome:
The new designs and layouts made it easier for our customer's to use based off feedback. We also saw a couple other benefits as well. Our sales now had a product that looked closer to others on the market, which made the sales process go a little smoother and they also enjoyed showing off the new platform more. The account management team gave feedback that it was now easier to use the platform allowing them to get their work done faster too. Later when we would be looking to add several new features and one new product the updated layout would prove to make that a much easier process than the previous version would allow for.
